ROTARY COAL FILTER
Everyone at Meco wanted to be a part of this contract. Fabricating a 26 tonne rotary filter for Jord International was an exciting project involving a variety of elements from plate and pipe fabrication, mechanical fitting, motors, reduction and gear boxes to pneumatic control systems.
Jord International, which specialises in materials handling and processing specific to the mining industries, commissioned us to manufacture, test and transport the rotary filter to New Zealand’s West Coast. Today it separates coal fines from slurry at the Cold Creek mine near Greymouth.
ROTARY SUGAR FILTER
This involved the fabrication of a vacuum rotary filter for extracting molasses from sugar mud. Destination offshore via ship to a sugar mill in Queensland Australia.
Weighing approximately 40 tonnes - the size being 6m wide by 15m long by 6.5m high. This project took approximately six months to complete and was a major achievement for this company in terms of engineering man power and technology.
